Secrets to Communion The High Call of Gods Rest and Righteousness
Matthew 26
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
There are three words to describe the beginning of what we call the Lord's Supper that is something Jesus did, rather than said, "Jesus took bread." Here, Jesus took bread into His own hands. At first glance, we would assume the word took to represent the idea of simply picking something up and put tit in your hand in order to bring it closer to you. For example, you took this book and put it into a place where you could read. Throughout the day, you use your hands in order to pick something up from where it was as a simple illustration.
However, here in the Word of God Jesus took the bread, and He raised it in front of Him. Let us take a closer look at the word took in the Strong's Concordance to see how this is the beginning of a Trial, and how we can apply it to our lives.
Lexicon: Strong's Concordance G2983-Lambano |
First, I want you to notice the word took has nothing to do with violence. Jesus showed His character throughout His earthly ministry as one who was meek and lowly. I am reminded in the Sermon on the Mount as Jesus was speaking to His disciples, in Matthew 5, "Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the promises of God."
You do not have to go to begin a court room prayer in communion from the viewpoint of desiring to be a mighty warrior, from the perspective of being violent. However, the word here describes a person that is going purposed in their heart to receive what is due in order to take possession. "When you prepare yourself for communion, what is it on your heart that you have been waiting for through a long period of time that you need a breakthrough?"
Take time to write those down:
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The reason you should take time to write those down is because the word took here represents the idea of "Putting to trial." At the same time, when we see Jesus "Taking bread" He must have been thinking about His body and how His body would be put to trial in the Greatest Trial the world would ever know.
At the same time, we do not realize that as we participate in the "Taking of the Bread" we are with Jesus in His preparing the trial. For this reason, Jesus kept close to Him His disciples at this Meal. The very moment that you are picking bread up to participate in communion, you are entering a trial. This is something that everyone in the Body of Christ can attain, and something everyone in the Body of Christ can enter into the joy of the Lord.
As you take the bread you begin to meditate upon the very Bread, or the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ as being our Mediator in each individual court trial. Reflecting upon the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ causes each individual to put to remembrance the trial narrative of the Greatest Trial the world has ever known. Christ Jesus, who became the Cup and Bread for all mankind, who was and is and forever shall be.
Here, when Jesus took the bread He must have been thinking about His own journey that He would one day become these elements of Covenant for all mankind. The power of the elements of the Body of and Blood of Jesus restores time in the past, restores time now, and time to come into our future. Therefore, it is easy to understand that communion is your entry into your next season of victory as a solution to all the time you have waited upon to be restored in your life.
According to the meaning of the word trial in the Dictionary it represents a formal meeting in a court in which evidence about crimes, disagreements, is presented to the Judge and often a jury so that decisions can be made according to the law. As well, this word trial represents the idea of a process of trying or putting to proof.
It is here that as we take the very bread into our hand, we understand that the Bread becomes the very Judge to every matter in our circumstances. The good news is when you go into a trial it is not the place to talk to your enemies, or even summon your enemies. The Mediator, who is the Body of Christ does that on your behalf.
For this reason, our position in communion as we "Take Bread" is the position of Rest and Righteousness. Righteousness is the position that you have been given in Christ to remain hidden from all darkness. It is in this darkness you were given Light to obscure darkness to see Jesus, and it was in darkness that Jesus "Put to trial all that His Body and Blood would overcome."
Righteousness is your position of remaining hidden in Christ because you acknowledge your position of Rest. You cannot defeat anything on your own--that needs to be put to Trial. You cannot overcome anything on your own--that needs to be put to Trial. The only way to overcome is to know that you have been buried and hidden with Christ in the Bread and it would be the Bread and Blood alone that overcomes for you--while you choose to Rest in the putting to trial of the Body and Blood of Jesus.
As you continue to study the meaning of the word trial in the Dictionary it also represents the idea to be purposed to give testimony of all injury that happened during your time of preparation. Remember, you are entering in order to get full restitution so please keep that in mind.
The last thing I want to share with you about the idea of a trial is that this word trial is the word took, which represents that Jesus "Takes access to your situation" no matter: the accuser's power, ranks, external circumstances or any injustice done against you. Here, the word take is your place of agreement that you receive the Bread, or Body of our Lord Jesus Christ into represent all those thought in mind.
Scripture Reflection:
Romans 6
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Communion Thoughts:
Your situation is already made Right and was positioned in the Light of Jesus in Righteousness. How can you enforce His death in your situation? How can the Blood be a Testimony to your situation?
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
In your circumstances, "How do you see yourself as you remain in your position of Rest that concerns you the greatest? Let the Light of Righteousness to shine in the face of Jesus greater shining in your heart? How can you allow the Body and Blood of Jesus to be your Testimony of this trial in your life you are going through to speak victory?"

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Write Your Thoughts:
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Communion is not about "Seeing your sin, and how wretched you are--or condemnation. Communion is about putting to Trial your position of being in Jesus-as Your Passover, as Your Substitute, that He already became all that the world would put against you so that you can know God's Rest and your position of Light in Christ to see the victory."
Write your thoughts:

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
You have died with Christ--already, how can you receive Life through the Body and Blood of Jesus as you take Bread to prepare for communion?
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Journal Your Thoughts:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
How can you meditate upon victory in the position of God's Rest and Righteousness as you take bread?

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Closing:
Heaven is My Throne
As we simply acknowledge that we are hidden in Christ, it is there that we understand every situation in your life that tries to oppose what has already been given victory over through the Bread and Body of our Lord Jesus Christ--is your footstool.
These things that are you footstool represent opportunity to proclaim what Jesus has already overcome for us, and how we have been positioned in Christ Jesus in Rest, and it is there we are the Righteousness of God in Christ.
1 This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. What kind of house will you build for Me? Or where will be My place of repose? 2 Has not My hand made all these things? And so they came into being,” declares the LORD. “This is the one I will esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, who trembles at My word.…
Before you take the elements of the Bread in communion, journal each area of your life asking the Holy Spirit to help you that needs to be put to trial through the finished works of the cross.
