Why People Lack Confidence in Prayer
Matthew 11:28-29
28 Come to Me, all you who are weary and
burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me;
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls
Far too often God's
people lack confidence. Some people have
low self-esteem, unhappy childhoods, teachers in school who were always
critical, even relationships never last long.
When a heart is born anew in God, "These same people lack confidence in God." For that reason Jesus said, "I will give you rest."
When a heart is born anew in God, "These same people lack confidence in God." For that reason Jesus said, "I will give you rest."
Being one in God's
Rest is acknowledging that God lives in you through Christ Jesus. Not
practicing this Rest by acknowledging God lives in you and you are upheld in
Him by Christ Jesus as Your Good Shepherd is the reason people lack confidence
in prayer.
It is here you learn
confidence by understanding everything that is already yours through His
Word. As well, by taking everything He
created freely to work on their behalf.
In short, "When
a person rests in God as One through the finished works of the cross-they learn
to release His ability which is His faith
into their situations. They learn to
release the ability of Jesus --which is His
faith through the finished works of God on the cross."
At last, they learn
to release their ability to choose--which is their faith, all that God has
given to them and created for them through His Word to remain in victory. Now, that is Good News!
Let's Turn our Hymns
to:
How Sweet is My Rest
Barney E. Warren
1893
How sweet is the
comfort and rest of my soul,
Where peace doth so
tranquilly flow;
Though storm-cloud
and tempest and dark billows roll,
All my heart with
His sunlight doth glow.
Refrain:
How sweet is my rest! And how richly I’m blest!
Oh, how sweet is the rest of my soul!
How sweet is my rest! And how richly I’m blest!
Oh, how sweet is the rest of my soul!
Confession:
Father, in Jesus name I acknowledge You live in me and
Jesus is the Door to my heart that You have entered in and live freely in me as
an act of My Will. Help me, by Your
Spirit, know what You have already given to me; already created for me; to take
and release your ability for every situation in my life so that I can walk in
confidence one and for all in prayer. In
Jesus name. Amen.
